Armed Forces Veterans, Financial Professionals and a Doctor Will Be Vying for Joan Vassos’ Attention on ‘The Golden Bachelorette’
Joan Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette is just weeks away from its premiere. Fans of the series are excited to see the widow find her next great love on national TV. ABC has just released information about the men vying for Vassos’ attention, and it looks like an interesting group of gentlemen. While we don’t know who Vassos will ultimately end up with, we know two of her contestants have something in common. Two veterans will compete for Joan’s attention.
How many men will Joan Vassos court during ‘The Golden Bachelorette’?
Joan Vassos is ready to look for love again after losing her husband, John Vassos, in 2021. The widow was a contestant on Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor before self-eliminating to deal with a family matter back in Maryland. Now, she’s back for another shot at love. Just how many men will she have to choose from, though?
While the number of contestants in a season can vary a bit, most seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have between 20 and 25 contestants. Vassos’ inaugural season of The Golden Bachelorette is no different. Her season will begin with 24 competitors. Her suitors range in age from 57 to 69. Vassos is 61.
Joan Vassos’ contestants come from varying backgrounds, but she’ll be dating two veterans
Vassos’ 24 competitors come from varying backgrounds, but at least two contestants have something in common. Two of Vassos’ suitors are veterans. According to Variety, Vassos will be courting a man named Kim, who served as a naval officer before retiring. He hails from Seattle, Washington. It is unclear just how far Kim makes it into the competition. Still, eagle-eyed fans didn’t spot Vassos spending time in Seattle for the hometown dates, so it’s possible he was eliminated earlier in the competition.
The Bachelor fans will recognize the other veteran in the competition. Mark Anderson, the father of The Bachelor winner Kelsey Anderson, will also compete for Vassos’ affection. Mark Anderson is an Army veteran. Anderson is believed to have made it well into the competition but was reportedly eliminated before the hometown dates, as well. Anderson, a Louisiana native, is a top contender for the lead in season 2 of The Golden Bachelor, according to fans. If it doesn’t work out with Vassos, viewers might get to see him again.
Vassos’ other suitors include a doctor, finance professionals, a firefighter, and business owners. While the mother of four has made it clear that she has no intention of leaving Maryland, where her children are based, only one suitor currently calls the state home. Pablo lives about two hours away from Vassos’ Maryland home in Cambridge, Md.
While Joan filmed her journey in July, her season of The Golden Bachelorette is set to play out in the coming weeks. Season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette will premiere on ABC on Sept. 18. The dating competition will also be available for streaming on Hulu.
