‘Welcome to Plathville’ Star Olivia Plath Opens Up About Her New Man
Olivia Plath is moving on. The star of TLC’s Welcome to Plathville has a new man in her life following her split from Ethan Plath, her husband of five years. The fresh relationship came as a complete surprise to the professional wedding photographer, who says she wasn’t looking to meet anyone when she connected with her current boyfriend.
Olivia Plath reveals new relationship after divorce from Ethan Plath
When Olivia and Ethan ended their marriage of five years, she wasn’t immediately looking to jump into another relationship. After marrying the first guy she ever kissed, Olivia, 26, was looking forward to spending time on her own and figuring out her next steps in life. Then, came a twist.
“I met someone when I was not expecting it at all,” Olivia shared when asked about her dating life during an appearance on the Pink Shade podcast.
For now, Olivia’s keeping her boyfriend’s identity under wraps.
“I’ve had a public relationship,” she said. “And that was really hard, to have so many opinions and everything. He’s more of a private person anyway.”
But Olivia’s guy might not be anonymous forever. He might make an appearance toward the end of Welcome to Plathville Season 6, which is currently airing on TLC.
“You guys might get to meet him at the very end [of the season] and see a little bit of our relationship,” she said.
But Olivia stressed that she’s keeping her current romance off of social media. “I’d rather keep that quiet,” she said.
The ‘Welcome to Plathville’ star thinks her ex should stay single
Though Olivia is dating, her divorce from Ethan is not yet final due to some issues with the paperwork, she told Pink Shade host Mary Payne.
“At this point, I think I just need to get a lawyer,” she said. “It’s really hard to do it all on my own.”
While Olivia has jumped into dating post-divorce, she thinks her former husband needs more time to process the split. (In the Welcome to Plathville Season 6 premiere, Ethan tried to convince Olivia to give their marriage another chance.)
“As somebody who is married to him, I’m gonna say, ‘Please stay single,’” she recently told Us Weekly. “There’s a lot there to work through. He has said this on the show, right? Being very anti-therapy or counseling. I would say please look into that. I know what I experienced. Being a part of that family dynamic, it was very, very hard. I think it’s hard for anyone as a spouse to know that family always comes first. So whoever he wants to be with in the future is gonna have to be OK with [that] and it wasn’t me.”
Welcome to Plathville airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
