Titus Welliver Shares Big ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 Update
We’re one step closer to the return of Bosch: Legacy. Filming has wrapped on the third season of Amazon’s gritty crime drama, series star Titus Welliver has revealed.

The actor, who plays detective Harry Bosch in the Amazon Freevee series, recently took to Instagram to share the important update with fans.
“And that’s a wrap on Bosch Legacy season 3!!” he captioned a photo of himself as Bosch, holding a gun.
Production on the latest season of the Bosch sequel series began in January. A release date hasn’t been announced.
What is ‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 about?
Bosch: Legacy Season 3 draws from two Michael Connelly novels: 2022’s Desert Star and 1993’s The Black Ice.
The new season picks up following the murder of imprisoned rapist Kurt Dockweiler (David Denman), who kidnapped Harry’s daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz) in season 2. The investigation into that crime brings dangerous secrets to light and threatens to run the lives of Maddie, Harry, and Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers). (In the season 2 finale, Harry’s nemesis Preston Borders resurfaced to claim he killed Dockweiler on orders from Harry.)
Meanwhile, a family’s disappearance haunts Harry and forces him to confront the limits of justice. Honey is in the midst of a hotly contested race for Los Angeles district attorney. And Maddie is caught up in a series of violent follow-home robberies.
‘Bosch: Legacy’ Season 3 to introduce Detective Renée Ballard
Bosch: Legacy’s third season will also introduce Renée Ballard, a detective charged with running LAPD’s cold case division. The character, who will be played by Maggie Q, will appear in the season 3 finale, Deadline reported. The crossover episode will introduce Ballard, who will be the focus of an as-yet-untiled spinoff series on Prime Video.
On May 9, Welliver shared a behind-the-scenes look at his and Maggie Q’s characters.
“First look, Bosch meets Ballard…,” he captioned the Instagram photo.
Welliver will also appear in several episodes of the Ballard-focused series, Connelly told the Tampa Bay Times. Like Bosch: Legacy Season 3, that show’s first season will draw from Desert Star, which features Ballard.
“That book has what I call the double helix structure,” the best-selling author explained. “It has two cases wrapped around each other. So it’s not going to be the whole season, but one part is going to be the main arc for Ballard, and one is the main arc for Legacy.”
Bosch: Legacy Seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Amazon Freevee and Prime Video.
