Rob Schneider Asks Daughter Elle King for Forgiveness After She Told Him to ‘Get F***ed’
Comedian Rob Schneider has responded to his daughter, singer Elle King, saying she wants distance from him. In a discussion on a podcast, the country singer spoke about growing up with Schneider as a father. She also addressed his recent homophobic and transphobic comments. Shortly afterward, Schneider publicly stated that he felt “terrible” when he heard what King said about him.
Elle King spoke about growing up as the daughter to Rob Schneider
In an Aug. 12 appearance on the Dumb Blonde podcast, King spoke about her childhood with Schneider.
“I was a really, really heavy child,” King said, per Yahoo!. “My dad sent me to fat camp. It was rough and I got in trouble one year because I sprained my ankle and I didn’t lose any weight. It’s very toxic and very silly.”
She added that she spent time on film sets with him growing up. While this could have been exciting for her, she said the experience was stressful.
“I would just get lost in the shuffle,” she said. “If I ever messed up a shot, or if an arm was in the camera, or I was talking, I would get in f***ing trouble.”
King also addressed Schneider’s anti-LGBTQ comments. This summer, a crowd roundly booed him during a charity event for his remarks about transgender people, vaccines, and women. He also criticized the Olympic opening ceremony for depicting an ancient Greek Bacchanal. Schneider believed the ceremony was recreating the Last Supper with drag queens and claimed the ceremony “openly celebrates Satan” on X (formerly Twitter).
King made it clear she disagrees with him.
“You’re talking out of your a** and you’re talking s*** about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights,” she said. “And it’s like, get f***ed.”
King went on to say that she “doesn’t want to be associated” with Schneider because “he’s just not nice.”
Rob Schneider asked his daughter for forgiveness
Shortly thereafter, Schneider spoke to Tucker Carlson about King’s comments.
“It’s fun being a parent, isn’t it?” Schneider said when asked to respond. “Well I just want to tell my daughter, Elle, I love you and I wish I was the father in my 20s that you needed. Clearly, I wasn’t. I hope you can forgive me for my shortcomings. I love you completely and I love you entirely.”
He added that he wouldn’t take her comments personally.
“I just want you to be well and happy with you and your beautiful baby, Lucky,” Schneider said, adding, “I wish you the best. I feel terrible. I just want you to know I don’t take anything you say personally.”
He said he hoped for King to “be happy and to heal from this.”
He has two other children
Schneider and model London King are the parents to King, who was born in 1989. In 2011, Schneider married television producer Patricia Azarcoya Arce. They have since welcomed two daughters, Miranda and Madison.
