Jessica shared her tips for prepping for labor
Jessica works as a labor and delivery nurse. Shortly before giving birth, she shared her tips on prepping for labor on Instagram.
“I start out by running for a mile,” she wrote. “I’ve always been a runner and it helps me unwind.”
Her other advice included eating dates, “colostrum harvesting/nipple stimulation [which] can help with releasing oxytocin,” and curb walking (walking with one foot on the curb and the other on the street). She also advised taking naps and trying to relax.
In another post, Jessica admitted that she’d miss being pregnant.
“I love my job, my coworkers, my patients, my hospital and being pregnant while doing the job made me feel strong,” she wrote. “It wasn’t always easy, and the fatigue of pregnancy combined with night shift was REAL. My coworkers can attest to my sleepy state of mind between 3am and 6am. But I did it, and I’m proud of myself for working till a day shy of 40 weeks! Now I just need baby to arrive so I can have my 12 weeks of maternity leave with the babe.”
