Awkward Prince William and Meghan Markle Moment Caught on Camera Showed ‘Split Was Terminal’ in 2018

Prince Harry alluded to falling out with Prince William in 2019 (he described them as taking “space”). But things between him, his brother, Meghan Markle, and Kate Middleton had been bad for a while at that point. The fractures in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales had already started to show. That’s where Christmas 2018 comes in. A commentator says an awkward moment between William and Meghan showed the “split was terminal” even then.

Not unlike 2017, the two couples were shoulder to shoulder come Dec. 25, 2018. They made their way inside St. Mary Magdalene Church, past cameras and well-wishers, only to do the same thing on their way out.

That alone produced a flurry of photos and videos. They showed Harry, Meghan, William, and Kate walking next to each other and smiling at a time when reports of friction had started to gather steam in the British tabloids (more on that later).

It marked the second—and last—time Harry and Meghan would walk with Kate, William, and the rest of the British royal family to church on Christmas Day. In 2019, the couple spent the holidays in Canada before announcing their decision to leave royal life in early 2020.

William turned away from Meghan as they left church

The Daily Mail’s royal expert, Richard Eden, discussed the moment between William and Meghan on an episode of “Reading the Royals,” noting how it appeared to show the now-Prince of Wales snubbing his sister-in-law.

“By Christmas 2018, the split [between the Wales and Sussex couples] was terminal,” he said. “And the footage we’re about to see really did make royal watchers sit up and take notice.”

“Look at the body language as they’re leaving church on Christmas Day in Sandringham. Meghan looks as if she wants to talk to Prince William, but he sort of turns away awkwardly and fiddles with his scarf. [It] looks like he just doesn’t want to speak to Meghan at all.”

“And then, at that point, it seems Catherine intervenes. You know, as we’ve seen so often with her, she seems to be sort of the peacemaker. And trying to make a bit of small talk, knowing full well that the cameras are all on them.”

Despite the awkwardness on camera, Eden noted how newspapers at the time were filled with photos of the couples’ “apparently united front.”

Harry and Meghan had a ‘clear the air’ meeting with William and Kate before Christmas

Harry revealed in his 2023 memoir, Spare, that things had indeed been tense between him and Meghan and William and Kate at the time. Barely two weeks before going to church together on Christmas Day, they had their second “summit” of the year. (They’d previously had a “clear the air” meeting in June 2018.)

It was Dec. 10, 2018, and Harry, Meghan, William, and Kate gathered in Nottingham Cottage’s “little annex.” The main topic of discussion? Tabloid stories about Meghan supposedly making Kate cry ahead of the Sussex royal wedding.

“I know, Meghan, that I was the one who made you cry,” Kate said. While the former Suits star “appreciated the apology,” she had questions. Specifically, “why the papers had said this, and what was being done to correct them?”

“In other words,” according to Harry, she was asking, “Why isn’t your office standing up for me? Why haven’t they phoned this execrable woman who wrote this story, and demanded a retraction?”

Meghan’s questions “flustered” Kate, who “didn’t answer,” while William offered “very supportive-sounding evasions.”

Harry, for his part, “already knew the truth.” A call from the palace about the story would lead to questions of “What’s the real story?” That “door,” he explained, “must never be opened because it would embarrass the future queen. The monarchy, always, at all costs, had to be protected.”

From there, they “went around and around,” discussing how it could’ve ended up in the tabloids. “Finally,” William admitted he “might’ve let it slip that there’d been strife between the two couples” while having dinner with King Charles and Queen Camilla on a royal tour of Australia.

A “heavy silence” fell, which Harry broke by telling his brother: “You…of all people…should’ve known…”

They might be at odds, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s rift with the British royal family and Prince William, in particular, isn’t entirely devoid of kindness. According to a biographer, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex try not to “overlap” with the Prince of Wales on scheduling.

Harry and Meghan don’t want projects to ‘overlap’ with William’s

Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, royal author Phil Dampier claimed while Harry and Meghan have set up a “rival court” in the U.K., they’re also making sure their projects don’t “overlap” with William.

“Now that they [have] set up as this kind of rival court,” he said, “they will obviously hope that things they do not overlap with what William’s doing.”

As for what they have coming up, Dampier highlighted big events for William and Harry. “He’s [William’s] got events with the Earthshot Prize that he’s involved in in South Africa later in the year. And Harry, of course, has got his Invictus Games.”

“So as long as they don’t directly clash in terms of dates, and try and score points off each other, and they’re not directly competing in the same field, I think they can carry on,” he said.

The author also called it “tragic William and his wife, Kate Middleton, along with Harry and Meghan, are doing their “own thing.” The Sussexes, he said, were they still working royals, could’ve helped with official engagements after King Charles III and the Princess of Wales announced they’d been diagnosed with cancer in February and March, respectively.

He added it might be some time before William and Kate’s two oldest children, 11-year-old Prince George and 9-year-old Princess Charlotte, do official engagements. That means the the king’s slimmed-down monarchy will continue—at least for now—to get by with fewer royals.

When Harry and Meghan have to be careful not to ‘overlap’ with William and Kate, and vice versa

There are some big events coming up for the Wales camp and the Sussex camp. William’s Earthshot Prize ceremony will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, in November 2024. Specific dates have yet to be announced, which could prove tricky for Harry and Meghan.

The California-based royals have an official trip to Colombia scheduled before the first Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, set for Nov. 7- 8, 2024.

“It does rather look sometimes as if they’re kind of setting up almost like an alternative royal court,” Dampier said of Harry and Meghan. “And they’re trying to be royal, while of course, they’re not actually representing the royal family.”

August may have unofficially become their month, so to speak. Why? Because royals are typically at Balmoral to close out the summer so less risk of “overlap.” During that time, Harry and Meghan “pop up,” according to a commentator, as they’ve done every August since 2020.

Making sure their events don’t happen at the same time as Kate hasn’t been an issue for Harry and Meghan. At least not this year. The 42-year-old’s spent the year on a break from royal duties as she continues cancer treatment.

Kate’s calendar has been almost entirely void of public appearances. To date, she’s made two public appearances, not counting the March 2024 video in which she announced her diagnosis.

Kate joined William and their three children at Trooping the Colour in June. A month later, she handed out trophies at Wimbledon—a staple on her summer calendar. Since then, some have predicted she won’t step out publicly again for a while.

Meghan Markle’s already been accused of overshadowing the royal family this summer

Following speculation Meghan might try to overshadow Trooping the Colour—Kate’s first public appearance of 2024—reports emerged she did just that. On the same day as the king’s annual birthday parade, Harry’s close friend, Nacho Figueras, shouted out American Riviera Orchard (ARO), Meghan’s new lifestyle brand.

Figueras shared a snap of ARO dog biscuits and jam on social media the brand reportedly sent him. The timing became the subject of debate and prompted the question: Was it intentional or simply a coincidence?

August means one thing for the British royal family—going to Balmoral. While he and the Sussexes aren’t invited this year, Prince Harry has, from time to time, opened up about vacationing in the Scottish Highlands. Ahead are some of the Duke of Sussex’s quotes about Balmoral from Spare.

1. Harry thought of Balmoral as ‘paradise’

Between all of the bombshells and claims in his 2023 Spare memoir, which may or may not someday get a sequel, Harry shared details about Balmoral, the royal family’s longtime summer retreat. (His late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who died at Balmoral in 2022, was especially fond of the estate.)

Harry began Spare by reflecting on Balmoral, the nearly 50,000-acre estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. To Harry, who now lives in Montecito, California, with Meghan Markle and their two children, it was “paradise.”

“To me Balmoral was always simply paradise,” he said, calling it “a cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove.” Like the rest of his family, he spent his time “mostly outdoors,” either “fishing, shooting,[or] running up and down ‘the hill.’”

2. He was ‘happy’ there before Princess Diana’s death

Before Princess Diana died in Paris, France, on Aug. 31, 1997, following a car accident, then-12-year-old Harry—just weeks shy of turning 13—recalled “happy.”

When Harry’s “heaven” of a trip to St. Tropez, France, with Prince William and Diana ended—it would be their last vacation together before her death—returning to Scotland came as a “shock.”

Harry described it as a “shock to the system” to go “from sun-drenched St. Tropez to cloud-shadowed Balmoral,” which he “vaguely” remembers for his week at the castle in August 1997.

4. Harry shared a bedroom with Prince William at Balmoral

In perhaps the first example of “heir” and “spare” in his memoir, Harry recalled how he and his brother, the now-Prince of Wales, whom he referred to as “Willy,” shared a bedroom at Balmoral.

“Willy had the larger half, with a double bed, a good-sized basin, a cupboard with mirrored doors, a beautiful window looking down on the courtyard, the fountain, the bronze statue of roe deer buck.”

Meanwhile, his “half of the room was far smaller” and “less luxurious.” Harry explained he “never asked why” because it wasn’t necessary. He already knew the answer. “Two years older than me, Willy was the Heir, whereas I was the Spare.”

William and Kate both ate muesli for breakfast in college

In a Vanity Fair excerpt from her 2010 biography, William and Harry, royal expert Katie Nicholl explored William’s college years, during which he got to know—and eventually start dating—Kate. The couple, who celebrated 13 years of marriage in April 2024, crossed paths often. Not only did they live in the same residence hall, but they had the same major (art history).

Kate, the author wrote, typically went running before going to the dining hall shortly before breakfast was over. “Within weeks,” however, “William was bold enough to invite her to join him.”

So, Kate started joining William and his friends, who always “sat in the same place, next to the head table” in the morning. Despite there being a “cooked breakfast available” to students, William—and Kate, it turned out—selected something else.

“Health-conscious like his father [King Charles III], William would choose muesli and fruit, as did Kate,” she claimed. According to The Kitchn, “muesli is unbaked while granola is baked along with a sweetener and oil to bind the ingredients together.” Additionally, unlike granola, it can be served hot or cold.

King Charles also enjoys eating muesli for breakfast

William and Kate aren’t the only British royals known to begin their days with muesli. King Charles does, too. His love for it is even showcased in a scene from The Crown Season 6. Dominic West’s Prince Charles asks a teenaged William if he’d like some “delicious” muesli at the breakfast table (via Town & Country).

Muesli is, as former royal chef Darren McGrady told Delish, a go-to of the king’s. “He normally starts the day with some fruit for breakfast, often some plums from the garden that have been lightly poached. A little juice and some muesli to go with it,” McGrady said.

The crunchy granola-like food is also included in a “breakfast box” that travels with King Charles, royal chef Graham Newbould once revealed. There are six—yes, six—“different types of honey, some special mueslis, his dried fruit, and anything that’s a bit special that he is a bit fussy about.”

William and Kate have different breakfasts on Christmas

Although they walk to church together every Christmas, as is royal tradition, another longheld pastime has William and Kate starting the holiday off with separate breakfasts.

One of their many holiday traditions involves royal men and women eating Christmas breakfasts separately. This tradition comes with different menus.

The men are said to have a hot meal with heavier options such as sausage and breakfast meats. Meanwhile, the women have a selection of lighter fare like toast or fruit.

Like mother, like son. Just like his mother, Queen Elizabeth II before him, duty comes first for King Charles III. Even ahead of his desire to see his California-based grandchildren, according to an insider. Despite reportedly wanting a relationship with Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, that isn’t entirely video calls, the king will put the “Crown” above his own “feelings.”

The king not likely to see Archie and Lili soon

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s kids seeing their paternal grandfather, King Charles, “is not going to happen any time soon,” per The Daily Beast. The Duke of Sussex, 39, is estranged from his brother, Prince William. And his relationship with their father isn’t much better at the moment.

It stems from a security decision made by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee’s (RAVEC). The committee revoked the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s automatic police protection when on U.K. soil after they left royal life in 2020.

Since relocating to Montecito, California, and losing security, Harry’s fought to get it back. However, he hasn’t been successful. The 39-year-old lost the legal battle in February 2024 and now has plans to appeal. Meanwhile, he plans to continue traveling to the U.K. solo amid concerns for his family’s safety while in the U.K.

The last time King Charles saw Archie and Lili was in June 2022 during Platinum Jubilee weekend.

King Charles will pick ‘duty’ like Queen Elizabeth

When it comes to the king’s responsibilities as monarch and his own feelings on wanting to see Archie and Lili, there’s no choice, an “old family friend” told The Daily Beast. King Charles will pick duty, just like his late mother, Queen Elizabeth.

“I wonder, when they are older, how those kids will feel about being denied a meaningful relationship with the King of England. To deprive them of that experience, with all its importance and heritage, seems very misguided.”

“Of course, he wants to see them,” they said of the king. “But if you force Charles to choose between his duty to the Crown and his personal feelings, he will choose the Crown every time—just as his mother did.”

Harry’s been accused of using his children as ‘emotional blackmail’

A friend of the king’s claimed Archie and Lili have become “emotional blackmail” to get the monarch’s support.

They said: “Harry has lost his security case in court, and is now trying the emotional blackmail route to get what he wants instead, cynically using the threat of Archie and Lilibet never meeting their grandfather again as a tactic to coerce the king into overruling RAVEC.”

“Using it as leverage, as a reason to withhold his kids from their grandfather, is beyond contempt,” they continued. “Charles is being treated for very serious cancer. So even if he could find the time, he cannot just fly to Los Angeles at the drop of a hat, like Harry can—and actually did earlier this year—in the other direction.”

According to People, the security issue has resulted in a complete breakdown of communication between King Charles and Harry.

An insider who used to be “friendly” with both William and Harry shared the idea of King Charles not seeing Archie and Lili goes back to the Frogmore Cottage eviction.

“When Harry was being kicked out of Frogmore Cottage,” they said. “One of his lines was that Charles would never see the kids again. This [the documentary] is him going public with that threat.”

Although Harry didn’t mention his children by name, “It was clearly implied,” they added. “This really isn’t about Meghan, who has no intention of ever coming back to England again.”

Kate Middleton Had 1 Request for Her 2016 British Vogue Cover

Kate Middleton knew what she wanted for her 2016 British Vogue cover. The Princess of Wales, 42, had one condition for the magazine shoot, and perhaps unsurprisingly to fans of Kate’s style, it had to do with her clothes.

Kate initially rejected the idea of posing on the cover of British Vogue

Although Kate flashed a megawatt smile at the camera, she wasn’t eager to sign on for the project. As Alexandra Shulman, British Vogue’s editor-in-chief at the time said in the issue, she’d already asked the royal and gotten a no.

“I had approached her and been turned away, politely but firmly,” she said (via British Vogue). “Nonetheless, when it came to our centenary issue, a magazine that would celebrate not only 100 years of its own existence but 100 years of British life and culture, I approached her again.”

She explained that this time around, there was a “new connection.” The National Portrait Gallery, which Kate’s been patron of since 2012, was teaming up with Vogue for an exhibition. Kate agreed, and after “several months” of conversation with the publication and National Portrait Gallery, the cover shoot happened.

In his new book, Catherine, The Princess of Wales: A Biography, out Aug. 6, 2024, author Robert Jobson shared that the future queen didn’t want any finery for her British Vogue cover. So, no tiaras, jewels from the royal family’s extensive collection, or gowns.

“Far from wanting to pose in couture, she asked to be photographed in informal clothes appropriate for the Norfolk countryside,” he wrote (via Daily Mail).

“According to Vogue’s then editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman, Catherine arrived for the shoot in jeans, a parka jacket, and her hair in big rollers. Once she was made up, she barely checked herself in the mirror, spending far more time asking the photographer technical questions about how he composed his pictures.” (Kate’s a big fan of photography and takes many of the Wales kids’ portraits.)

10 suitcases of clothes were brought to the shoot and hung up on rails. Kate then “sifted” through them, “laughing and some” and “overlooking others” (evening gowns for “just in case”).

Perhaps the only slightly less casual moment involved Kate’s hair. She brought her longtime hairdresser, Amanda Cook Tucker, to the cover shoot, “who was dragging a wheelie case of products.”

Other British royals to appear on the cover of Vogue

British royalty gracing the cover of Vogue isn’t exactly new for the storied fashion publication. By the time of Kate’s 2016 cover, two women in the royal family had already done it.

Her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, appeared on three British Vogue covers during her lifetime and one posthumously, as well as a U.S. edition.

Princess Anne, 73, the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, has also done multiple Vogue covers. Although Meghan Markle guest-edited the September 2019 issue of British Vogue, she didn’t appear on the cover.

‘Disgusted’ Prince William Doesn’t Reportedly Want Prince Harry to Get His Inheritance

Prince Harry wouldn’t be in for a hefty payday when he turns 40 in September if Prince William got his way. The Prince of Wales, 42, reportedly wishes his younger brother, the Duke of Sussex, weren’t getting millions in inheritance for “without lifting a finger” come Sept. 15, 2024.

Harry’s inheritance kicks in when he’s 40

This particular birthday is a big one for Harry. Not only is he entering a new decade of his life, but he’ll now be of age to get access to millions left for him by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. (That’s his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s mom.)

The Queen Mother, who died in 2002, set up a $90 million trust fund for her great-grandchildren. However, she stipulated that it couldn’t be accessed until the age of 40. This means that on Sept. 15, when Harry turns 40, he will receive a reported $8.5 million in inheritance.

The amount is said to be slightly more than what William inherited when he got his own share in 2022. The reason, per royal biographer Christopher Andersen, is because he’s the heir to the throne.

As such, the Queen Mother knew he stood to inherit the Duchy of Cornwall’s more than $1 billion in assets upon becoming the Prince of Wales, which he did in September 2022.

William thinks Harry’s not in ‘any position’ to get an inheritance

A source told Closer William is not pleased his brother’s set to have millions more in the bank. (Harry and Meghan Markle’s joint net worth is estimated to be somewhere around $60 million.) The reason: He hasn’t done anything to get it.

“William’s pretty disgusted that once again Harry’s going to be cashing out and taking millions back to his Montecito home without lifting a finger for it,” the insider said. “There’s nothing he can do about it aside from shaking his head. But if it were up to him, Harry would not be getting this payday.”

They also claimed William objected to Harry gaining access to his portion of their great-grandmother’s trust fund. Legally, however, the future king couldn’t do anything because the Queen Mother expressly left the money to Harry.

“William doesn’t think his brother is in any position to be getting this handout,” the source added. “And he’s letting it be known that he thinks it’s a pretty rotten situation.”

Kate’s not happy about Harry getting his inheritance either

Apparently, William’s not the only one who isn’t thrilled about Harry coming into some money. The insider suggested Harry’s sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, whom he described in Spare as “the sister [he] never had and always wanted,” doesn’t like the “idea” either.

The reason, they explained, is because of a breakdown in trust between the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

“William and Kate don’t trust Harry or Meghan one bit,” they said. “So the idea that Harry’s now cashing in on his great-granny’s inheritance leaves a very bitter taste in their mouths.”

These Royals Have ‘Replaced’ the Sussex Kids as George, Charlotte, and Louis’ Closest Cousins

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s rift with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has taken a major toll on the two couples’ children. Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis aren’t close with their cousins, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. So much so that, according to a royal author, Archie and Lili have been “replaced” by other royal cousins who have become close to the Wales kids.

George, Charlotte, and Louis know ‘very little’ about cousins Archie and Lili

Speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, royal author Phil Dampier claimed George, Charlotte, and Louis don’t know much about their California-based cousins.

“It’s so sad that the Wales kids basically know very little about their cousins across the pond and are never likely to be close to them,” he said. “It’s not thought that George, Charlotte, and Louis have ever met Archie and Lilibet.”

Harry and Meghan welcomed Archie in May 2019 before leaving royal life in 2020 and relocating to Montecito, California. Before Archie was born tensions had already been brewing between Harry and Meghan and William and Kate. By the time Lili came along in June 2021, things had gotten worse. (Remember, the Sussexes’ Oprah interview aired in March of that year.)

Because of the estrangement, George, Charlotte, and Lili didn’t see Archie and Lili in 2022 when the Sussex family visited England. “Although they were invited to Lilibet’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage [Harry and Meghan’s former U.K. home], they did not go,” Dampier claimed.

The Tindall children have ‘replaced’ Archie and Lili ‘in many ways’ for George, Charlotte, and Louis

So, who has “replaced” Archie and Lili? Zara and Mike Tindall’s kids: Mia, Lena, and Lucas. “In many ways, the children of Zara and Mike Tindall have replaced Archie and Lilibet as the closest cousins of George, Charlotte, and Louis,” Dampier said.

Not only are the Wales kids close in age to their Tindall cousins—Mia, Lena, and Lucas are 10, 6, and 3—but their parents are close. Mike is said to have become part of William’s “inner circle,” and the couples are seen chatting at many royal family events.

Dampier also claimed William and Kate’s kids enjoy being with the Tindalls because “when they see each other, the fun is infectious. At Christmas at Sandringham, at events like Trooping the Colour, state occasions, or holidays at Balmoral, the cousins play together and get on well.”

“It’s something Archie and Lilibet are missing out on,” he added. “And you just wonder if in years to come, when they grow up, they will start asking their parents why they are estranged from the royal family.”

More bonding time is in store for the Tindall and Wales cousins soon. While a scheduling conflict may keep Mia, Lena, and Lucas from hanging out with George, Charlotte, and Louis at Balmoral, King Charles III is reportedly eager for the Tindalls to come. So much so that he’ll even change the schedule so they don’t miss out on some family traditions.

Not only would George, Charlotte, and Louis’ lives seem “alien” to Archie and Lili, but, according to author Tom Quinn, the five royals will likely face challenges if and when they someday try to build a relationship.

“I can imagine one of them […] when they’re older might reach out and think, ‘We really need to do something about this,’” he said.

Their parents’ history and being in the spotlight will, Quinn predicted, make it difficult if one of them ever reaches out.

“I think if they’re constantly under the media spotlight, it will be very difficult for them because everyone will comment on it,” the author explained. “If they suddenly meet up, the press will get hold of it and make a big thing of it, and they’ll be back to square one.”

Snoop Dogg counts the late Queen Elizabeth II as a fan. Ahead of the 2024 Paris Games, the rapper headed to London, England, where he shared his affection for the monarch. Plus, how—in a roundabout way—he had “influence” on her in the ‘90s.

Snoop on Queen Elizabeth: ‘My girl’

On his way to Paris, France, for the Olympics, Snoop spent some time in London. There he spoke with Capital FM’s DJ Jordan North and called Queen Elizabeth, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96, his “girl.”

First, he said he might stop by Buckingham Palace. “I’ll go by the palace, see if they let me in,” he replied when asked what his plans were for the visit.

“Well, I’ve heard the future king, [Prince] William, is a huge Snoop fan,” the DJ said to which Snoop shared he’s not his only royal fan. (The Prince of Wales is also a big AC/DC fan.)

“Well, the queen was a fan too. Rest in peace to the queen, that was my girl. You know what I’m saying? So, just may want to go up and, you know, see what you do.”

Queen Elizabeth came to Snoop’s ‘defense’ amid 1994 calls to ban him from the U.K.

Snoop’s fondness for Queen Elizabeth goes back 30 years to 1994. At the time, the “Gin and Juice” rapper was facing murder charges, which were later dropped, in Los Angeles, California. Set to tour in the U.K., some didn’t want him to visit or perform in the country.

As the Grammy winner told DJ Whoo Kid in 2022, the queen made the ban talk go away by saying he could go to the U.K.

“Guess who came to my defense? Just take a guess,” Snoop said. “The queen. The queen said, ‘This man has done nothing in our country. He can come.’”

“The queen…bow down,” he added. “When the queen speaks, bow down.”

Snoop thought Prince William and Prince Harry had something to do with it

In the same interview, Snoop speculated other British royals, namely the queen’s young grandsons, William and Prince Harry, now 42 and 39 and estranged, played a part in what happened back in 1994.

“You think they weren’t there, saying, ‘Grandma, please let him in, grandma. He’s OK. We love his music,’” he said.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2015, Snoop explained how his music gave him “influence” behind palace walls.

“When they tried to kick me out of England,” he told the publication, “the queen made a comment that her grandbabies loved Snoop Doggy Dogg, and he had done no wrong in the UK. So she gave me permission to be here.”

“Those grandbabies grew up to be Prince William and Harry. So I had influence on them, and they had influence on their grandmother, which enabled me to get into this beautiful country.”

“They love my music, and it is what it is. There’s a mutual love and respect,” he concluded.

Prince William is “fed up” with Prince Harry. The Prince of Wales, 42, is reportedly “spitting mad” at his younger brother, the Duke of Sussex. Why? Because he won’t stop discussing Princess Diana in the press. Ahead, what Harry recently said about their late mother that’s got William upset.

William is upset Harry keeps talking about Diana

According to New Idea magazine, William’s not happy after Harry discussed Diana in ITV’s Tabloids on Trial documentary, which aired in the U.K. last month.

“William is spitting mad that Harry would reference [Princess Diana] again,” a source said (via Sky News Australia). Apparently, it’s gotten to the point where “he’s so fed up with [Harry and Meghan Markle] cashing in on Diana’s death.”

The insider went on to suggest there are monetary motivations behind the Duke and Duchess of Sussex discussing Diana publicly, something William despises.

“Harry just won’t move on,” they said. “And it appears that since marrying Meghan, the obsession with his mother has only intensified. William’s getting to the point where he’s washing his hands of Harry for good.”

William and Harry have been estranged for years. However, if both attend the funeral of their uncle Robert Fellowes, they might find themselves in the same room.

Princess Diana ‘wasn’t paranoid’ about phone hacking, according to Harry

So, what exactly did Harry say that’s got William upset? The 39-year-old suggested their late mother had been subjected to phone hacking by British tabloids.

“There is evidence to suggest that she was being hacked in the mid-90s, probably one of the first people to be hacked,” Harry said in Tabloids on Trial (via Deadline). “And yet still today, the press, the tabloid press very much enjoy painting her as being paranoid.”

“But she wasn’t paranoid,” he added. “She was absolutely right of what was happening to her. And she’s not around today to find out the truth.”

In the same interview, he also admitted legal battles with Mirror Group, News Group Newspapers, and Associated Newspapers have worsened his relationship with William and their father, King Charles III.

Harry has felt his mother’s presence ‘very much’ in recent years

Diana has, as Harry told Today’s Hoda Kotb in 2022, been with him every step of the way since leaving royal life in 2020.

“It’s almost as though she’s done her bit with my brother and now she’s very much helping me,” he said. “[She] got him set up, now she’s helping me set up.”

“For me, it’s constant,” Harry said of feeling her presence. “It has been over the last two years, more so than ever before.”

In Spare, Harry shared some examples of Diana popping up in his post-royal life. He recalled how Archie became fond of a painting with “Diana” in the title when they were staying at Tyler Perry’s house.

He also revealed how a woman with “powers” told him Diana was with him and that she’d gotten a laugh out of Archie trying to fix a broken Queen Elizabeth II Christmas ornament.
