Season 19‘s trailer teases conflict, sadness, and uncertainty for the cast of TLC’s Sister Wives. However, there are clear reasons pointing to the end of the series, and it’s obvious to the show’s loyal viewers.

Here is the reason ‘Sister Wives’ may take its last bow after Season 19

The giant red flag of Season 19 of Sister Wives is the show jumping into present-day events. The series typically airs content from well over a year prior, and this season will be no exception.

The show will try to keep viewers informed about what’s happening within the Brown family. However, Garrison Brown’s death in March 2024 forced the show to speed up its timeline.

Therefore, the series will focus on how Garrison’s death has affected the former polygamist family. It will depict how Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown handled the news.

The WB Discovery press site writes, “This season, the family faces the devastating passing of Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison Brown. Through the heartbreaking pain, the family navigates this incredible tragedy and comes together to mourn and celebrate his life.”

However, if the show ends with present-day events, and Meri, Christine, and Janelle have all set up their own lives without Kody and Robyn, what’s left to say about their family, who are now just people who used to be married?

In a Reddit post dedicated to Sister Wives, viewers weighed in on the newest installment of the TLC series. Is this the end of the long-running reality television series?

“I don’t entirely trust them. The lack of branding the new season as a ‘series finale’ speaks volumes. I feel like TLC and certain family members may try to milk it for all its worth, despite the personal tragedies,” wrote one viewer.

A second claimed, “I can’t see why they are still going. Kody is now in a monogamous marriage. The whole sister wives thing no longer exists. Do people even tune in to watch a boring couple of unpleasant people?”

“People are amped for what will likely be a mostly boring season. Doesn’t matter. It’s only about ratings and money. Y’all are bonkers for thinking TLC will cancel the show when it’s way more successful than it was for most of its’ run,” wrote a third fan.

Finally, a fourth viewer wrote, “They are filming Season 20. That is the last season with the current contract they have with TLC. They should call it a wrap from there and maybe do specials every month to give updates with the true family members. I would like to see that.”

Changes within the Brown family reflect the season’s conflict

Over the past several years, the Brown family has undergone many changes. Notably, Kody Brown is a monogamist with wife Robyn.

His former wives, Meri, Christine, and Janelle, live separately. However, Season 19 appears to show some solid resolution between the women, a second red flag that could signal the series’ end.

In the trailer, Meri states she refuses to be a member of the “ex-wives club” but won’t side with Kody and Robyn either. This leaves her to freely have relationships with people who won’t judge her for her past participation in the polygamist clan.

However, in one scene, Meri is seen hugging Christine. In another, Janelle shares her enthusiasm for Meri’s move away from Kody and Robyn.

But it may not all be rosy for the Brown clan, as Meri appeals to their former church, the Apostolic United Brethren, for an official release from her marriage to Kody, a third and final red flag. She and Kody face off about their relationship in a separate scene.

Kody digs in his heels because in the AUB, the more wives a man has, the more he gets to head his own kingdom, where his wives are tied to him for eternity. By asking for a spiritual release from their marriage, Kody can no longer claim Meri in the afterlife.

It’s a kick in the pants for Kody, who remains spiritually tied to Christine and Janelle. However, since Christine is legally wed to David Wooley, she is no longer tied to Kody in the eyes of their church. That leaves Janelle to release herself from Kody, which would leave him unable to fulfill this spiritual element of his religion.

Sister Wives returns to TLC on Sunday, September 15. The series airs at 10 p.m.

Angela Deem lashed out on social media after learning about her estranged husband Michael Ilesanmi’s fundraiser to help with his legal fees.

The 90 Day Fiancé star reacted after Michael shared a link to a GoFundMe page where he asked for donations to pay a lawyer. The TLC star said he needed to hire an expensive attorney after Angela filed to annul their four-year marriage.

On August 15, Angela took to TikTok to share her thoughts on Michael’s plea for financial support support. She felt that he was taking his supporters for a ride.

“America wake up now you have been scammed,” she captioned the video. She also added the hashtags #HOMELANDSECURITY and #USAWAKEUP.

Angela was horrified that Michael had quickly hit his fundraising goal of $25,000. As of August 16, he had raised more than $32,000 from 1,600 donations.

“Did you see Michael made his goal? What is wrong with you, United States of America?!” Angela said in the minute-long video, which appeared to have been filmed in a public bathroom. “I am totally ashamed right now. Who makes a GoFundMe, makes $25,000 for legal fees when we have people out there that have sick kids, sick moms or veterans on there who don’t even get $25,000. Wake up, America! This is unacceptable. This is unacceptable.”

“There’s taxes on that,” Angela added. “$25,000. Congratulations, Michael. You’re going to need it.”

The ‘90 Day Fiancé’ star wants to annul her marriage to Michael

Angela’s TikTok tirade comes shortly after it was revealed that she was asking a Georgia court to annul her marriage to Michael. The couple married in January 2020 in a ceremony in Nigeria.

In the petition submitted to Jeff Davis County Superior Court on June 20, Angela claims that Michael “fraudulently induced [her] into a marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.’

The TLC personality asserted that after Michael “abandoned” her, she “discovered that [he] was engaged in a conspiracy with other Nigerian men to induce US citizens into marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status.”

Angela seems to be referring to Michael’s involvement in the Paradise Men Facebook group. She discovered he was an administrator for the group when she searched his phone during a trip to the Ivory Coast (as seen on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 8).

Michael said it was simply a group for men who were married or engaged to American women to share information about the visa and immigration process. But Angela was convinced that Michael was scamming her. Nonetheless, the couple went forward with the visa process and Michael arrived in the U.S. in late 2023.

Angela’s PI found no evidence that Michael was a scammer

Angela’s TikTok video is not the first time she’s accused Michael of being a scammer. After he moved to the U.S., she hired a private investigator named Todd to investigate her husband and find evidence of his scamming.

That PI was a guest on the August 11 episode of the Happily Ever After? Season 8 tell-all. He revealed that he’d found no evidence that Michael was scamming or cheating on Angela. Angela refused to believe his report.

“I don’t care,” Angela shouted after Todd delivered his findings. She then stormed off the stage.

“I don’t care what y’all think about me because I know the real motherf*cker,” she added.

In an interview, Todd said Angela was searching for evidence of something that did not exist.

“I don’t see any reason why Angela should be suspicious of Michael or his behavior,” he told producers. “A concern that I have is how adamant she is about wanting to find a lie or something wrong in the report. It’s almost like she’s not willing to accept the truth.”

Sarah Poynter’s ‘Alone’ journey comes to an end

As one of just two women competing on Alone Season 11, Sarah Poynter has proven that she has what it takes to survive a tough situation. While she struggled with hunting and fishing, Sarah (who owns an Alaskan fishing lodge with her husband) nonetheless made herself at home in the remote Canadian wilderness, building a solid shelter and foraging for most of her food. In the process, she discovered a resiliency that she didn’t know she had, which boosted her sometimes fragile self-confidence.

But after more than 40 days on her own in the Arctic, Sarah reached the end of her journey. She starts experiencing a “screaming” pain in her left kidney. At first, she tries to push through. But even standing upright is a challenge. Sarah isn’t sure what was causing her pain, but she knows it’s serious. Tapping out was is only option, especially considering the vow she’d made before embarking on this journey.

“I made a promise to my husband that I would tap out one day before I broke, physically or mentally,” she explains.

While she didn’t win, Sarah doesn’t see her time on Alone as a failure. “There’s a certain inner strength that I found,” she says. “I was out here for 42 days. That’s an accomplishment … I slayed some demons out here.”

Dub battles stomach illness and William’s food cache goes missing

Sarah isn’t the only Alone contestant battling health challenges in this episode. Dub has spent several days fighting a serious stomach ailment and diarrhea. He also breaks his glasses, again. Fortunately, he’s able to repair the spectacle using willow, snare wire, and melted paracord. It’s a clever, if not exactly stylish, fix.

Later, he discovers a tapeworm in a fish he’s been eating. But he’s so desperate for food that he considers not throwing the fish away. At this point, Dub is beginning to consider tapping out. “It would be so easy to just push the button and go home … I’m not sure how much of this I can take,” he says.

But Dub powers through, and on Day 53, he catches a massive fish. It could provide up to a week of food. Will that be enough to take him to the finish line?

Perhaps. But then he makes an unsettling discovery. Mice have been chowing down on the frozen fish he’s stashed in his shelter. The droppings they’ve left behind are the likely cause of his illness. He’s able to salvage some of the fish, and he still has the fish he just caught. But the loss of so much food is a major blow.

Meanwhile, William is still fighting to keep critters out of his food caches. He’s stashed some precious beaver meat (a valuable source of fat and key nutrients) in a rock cache. The fisherman from Labrador is trying to stretch what little food he has for as long as possible. The beaver seems like it should be secure, so William is understandably stunned when he discovers that the meat he’s saved has gone missing.

“This has got to be a trick,” a baffled William says. “There’s no way … I’m puzzled. I’m truly puzzled.”

It’s a devastating loss, and one that has William wondering how much longer he’ll be able to continue in the competition. His best option is to try his hand at ice fishing. But as he’s building his ice ladder, an even better opportunity presents itself. William spots a grouse, which he manages to snare, much to his delight.

Timber continues to thrive

Finally, there’s Timber, who continues to show that he’s the one to beat in this competition. He’s solved the ventilation problem in his shelter and now has a fire to keep him warm inside. He’s also keeping himself entertained by having imaginary conversations with a medieval English lord and whittling toys for his kids.

Later, Timber snares a hare. Hare meat is lean and high in protein, and on its own, it’s not enough to keep someone from starvation. But Timber can pair the hare with some of the lard from the moose he killed earlier this season.

“I think that will be a good balance to keep me with enough fat to process the proteins from the hare,” he says. “And I think that way I could have a ton of longevity,” he says.

’90 Day Fiancé’ Stars Rally to Support Michael Ilesanmi in Legal Battle With Angela Deem

The 90 Day Fiancé family is showing up to support Michael Ilesanmi in his legal battle with his estranged wife Angela Deem.

On August 13, Michael took to social media to ask for financial help with legal expenses. The plea came just days after it was revealed that Angela was asking a Georgia court to annul her marriage to her husband of four years. In her filing, she claims that Michael “fraudulently induced” her into the marriage with the goal of getting a green card.

Michael Ilesanmi asks for help with ‘unexpected legal expenses’

On Instagram, Michael shared a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt reading “God Got Me.” In the caption, he asked his followers to help him as he deals with Angela’s annulment filing.

“I could really use your help right now,” the TLC star wrote. “I’m facing some unexpected legal expenses, and any support would mean the world to me. If you’re able to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.”

In a follow-up Instagram video, Michael explained that he needed to “act fast” to respond to Angela’s legal moves, but that lawyers were very expensive in the United States. He said he did not want to ask for help but saw no other option.

“I know this came abruptly and I’m sorry for coming out this way,” Michael said. “It took me lots to post the GoFundMe link on my page because I’m not that kind of person … the situation I’m in now is beyond me and I’m trying my best to get things sorted.”

“It’s not a scam,” he added, perhaps referencing Angela’s repeated accusations that Michael is a scammer. A PI she hired refuted those allegations during the August 11 episode of the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? tell-all.

“I know it’s not easy out there,” he added. “But if you have a way you could support [me], I would truly appreciate it … I want to get this over with.”

As of August 14, more than 900 people had donated to Michael’s GoFundMe, raising more than $20,000.

‘90 Day’ stars take Michael’s side in his battle with Angela

A number of Michael’s fellow 90 Day stars showed their support for him on social media. That included two who witnessed Angela’s aggressive behavior toward Michael while filming the Happily Ever After? Season 8 tell-all.

“Not as much as I would want to but I hope it helps!” wrote Jasmine Pineda, who moved to the U.S. to marry Gino Palazzolo.

“I didn’t listen to the video before commenting, I just wanna say we’ve got you, also just remember that every difficult situation has an expiration date,” wrote Kobe Blaise, who was also in attendance at the 90 Day tell-all. “Days of endless joy, happiness and smile are not far from you, stay strong brother.”

“I got you too, brother!” wrote Colt Johnson from 90 Day Fiancé Seaon 6.

‘The Challenge 40’ Cast Dealt With Horrible Living Conditions and Only 2 Porta-Potties

MTV’s The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras is here, and fans get to see past competitors from four eras of the show compete for big prize money. Fan-favorite competitors like CT Tamburello, Tori Deal, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, and Cara Maria Sorbello returned in the hopes of winning. However, all of the competitors might have had to deal with horrible living conditions. Here’s what an insider alleged.

‘The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras’ competitors lived in ‘horrible’ living conditions, a source says

Producers filmed The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras in Vietnam with 40 returning players from four different eras of the show. The season began with competitors competing within their own era comprising 10 players first. As the season progressed, the players ventured into an individual game until the final.

Unfortunately, the living conditions this season were allegedly less than desirable. GamerVev, a known Challenge spoiler guru, tweeted that the players complained of “horrible conditions” while competing.

“Supposedly living conditions are horrible …. There are two bathrooms (Porta-Potties), showers are awful, and food is terrible,” GamerVev tweeted.

Jordan Wiseley, one of the most formidable competitors in season 40, also posted about the bad conditions on social media. “When I say ‘a Challenge house is one of the worst environments to be in,’ I’m not exaggerating,” Jordan posted, according to a Reddit screenshot. “This one was by far the worst treatment we’ve ever received as a cast, and it’s taken a toll (more on that later). But now, we gotta work together to get off the couch and going again!”

Others commented about the situation on Reddit.

“It’s been said the 40 house looked nice, but it wasn’t functional at all,” a user wrote. “It didn’t have a functional kitchen, so the cast had to eat in their beds. The cast had two Porta-Potties to split for bathrooms, and the food was awful.”

The president of Bunim/Murray Productions said the crew ‘bends over backward’ for the cast

Julie Pizzi, the president of Bunim/Murray productions, spoke to Variety about the difficult living situation that the cast described. Pizzi said she and the team “try to create a fantasy location” for the cast, which sometimes comes with growing pains.

“We end up in castles. We’ve been in bunkers. We end up in places that we have to bring in bathrooms because their plumbing can’t sustain. We’ve had to bring in generators. It’s always about trying to find a location that feels like a fantasy,” Pizzi said.

Pizzi confirmed that the crew filmed The Challenge 40 in a castle in Vietnam, so the crew had to bring in bathrooms for the cast and use local caterers for food.

“There’s always an adjustment to people’s pallets,” she continued. “What we really try to do is take good care of our cast. We have a whole talent team that’s dedicated to getting them aspirin and ice packs and more forks and plates and cups. We really try to bend over backward to keep our cast happy, and I’m sure that the majority of them would confirm that.”

The Challenge cast members discussed their difficult living scenarios in past saeasons. Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio said that filming The Challenge: Total Madness in an underground bunker was by far the hardest environment he ever had to compete in.

Living underground, breathing artificial air, no natural light,” he said on the Challenge Mania podcast. Seasonal affect disorder, you not being able to see actual light, really does a number on the human body and on the mind. And I got to a point on this show where … I felt like I was depressed, dude. I have nothing to look forward to. It was miserable, dude.”

MTV’s The Challenge is back with a monumental season, and fans can’t wait to see their favorite players from the past compete against each other for hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras takes competitors from each Challenge “era” to see who has what it takes. So, who’s eliminated from the competition first? Here are The Challenge 40 spoilers regarding the first eliminated players.

‘The Challenge 40’ spoilers: Who goes home first?

The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras will bring familiar faces back to the arena. Host TJ Lavin will welcome four “eras” of past competitors.

Competitors from seasons 1-10 include Tina Barta, Katie Cooley, Aneesa Ferreira, Brad Fiorenza, Derrick Kosinski, Mark Long, Rachel Robinson, CT Tamburello, Darrell Taylor, and Jodi Weatherton.

The second “era” of competitors comes from seasons 11-20. This includes Derek Chavez, Nehemiah Clark, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, KellyAnne Judd, Ryan Kehoe, Aviv Melmed, Brandon Nelson, Emily Schromm, Cara Maria Sorbello, and Laurel Stucky.

Competitors from the third “era” competed in seasons 21-30. This includes Tori Deal, Amanda Garcia, Leroy Garrett, Jonna Mannion, Nia Moore, Tony Raines, Averey Tressler, Devin Walker, Cory Wharton, and Jordan Wiseley.

Finally, competitors from the last “era” competed in seasons 31-39. This includes Paulie Calafiore, Theo Campbell, Kaycee Clark, Michele Fitzgerald, Horacio Gutiérrez Jr., Olivia Kaiser, Josh Martinez, Nurys Mateo, Jenny West, and Kyland Young.

The first challenge of the season involved each “era” competing separately. Eight people from each era moved forward, while the bottom man and woman from the era headed into elimination. The man and woman from each era who completed the challenge first chose the elimination opponents.

So, who heads home first? According to The Challenge 40 spoilers, these men and women from each era head home first.

Seasons 1-10: Derrick eliminates Mark. Aneesa eliminates Katie.

Seasons 11-20: Ryan eliminates Brandon. Cara Maria eliminates KellyAnne.

Seasons 21-30: Tony eliminates Leroy. Nia eliminates Amanda.

Seasons 31-39: Theo eliminates Paulie. Olivia eliminates Nurys.

What is the format this season?

The format of The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras is unlike any other. The season begins with each “era” competing separately. After this, the competition moves into a team phase, followed by an individual phase. Finally, competitors are influenced by “karma points” for the final.

The initial format begins with the bottom two competitors from each era competing against others within their own era, as described above.

For the team phase, the competitors to win the eliminations choose two players to target from each era. After the eras compete in a daily challenge, the targeted players from the winning era become “captains.” The losing era’s targeted players head to elimination. The captains from the winning team choose a pair from one of the two other eras to also compete in the elimination.

Finally, the competition moves into an individual phase. The competitor who comes in last during the daily challenge goes straight into elimination. The winner of the daily challenge chooses between the two competitors who the last elimination winner targeted.

The game utilizes “karma points” this season. The eliminated competitors give karma points to every remaining player in the game. These points vary from one to five. At the end of the game, the final competitors earn advantages based on how many karma points they have.

A sneak peek of The Challenge 40 premiere shows the eras entering and feeling confident about their teammates.

“Being era one, we’re like, the action figures of this thing,” Derrick says in the clip posted to Reddit. “We’re the original Ninja Turtles.

“Era 3 is gonna be unstoppable,” Averey says. “We have a lot of strong competitors and we blend well with all the eras, and I think that’s going to become a huge advantage for us.”

“I am so proud to be part of era 4,” Olivia says. “We are all bada**. We are the future of The Challenge.”

CT, one of the most formidable competitors this season, admitted feeling “emotional” about the show lasting 40 seasons. “I think I’m around 19/20 Challenges at this point,” he says. “So, to me, coming on season 40, it just hits a little different for me than it does most of these other challengers because it’s kind of like a home to me. The Challenge has always been there for me.”

TLC Confirms ‘Sister Wives’ Season 19 Will Address Garrison Brown’s Death

The darkest moment the Brown family has ever faced will be a part of Sister Wives Season 19. The upcoming season of the TLC reality series will address the March 2024 death of Janelle Brown and Kody Brown’s son Garrison Brown.

‘Sister Wives’ family navigates the loss of Garrison Brown

On August 13, TLC announced that Sister Wives will return to TV in September 2024. The new season will chronicle the further breakdown of Kody’s relationships with three of his former wives: Janelle, Meri Brown, and Christine Brown. A trailer for the new season focuses primarily on the tension between Kody and his ex-wives, as well as Janelle, Christine, and Meri’s efforts to move on from polygamy and Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, coming to terms with being in a monogamous marriage.

Garrison’s death is not mentioned in the trailer, but a press release from the network confirms that it will be covered in season 19.

“This season, the family faces the devastating passing of Janelle and Kody’s son, Garrison Brown,” reads the synopsis. “Through the heartbreaking pain, the family navigates this incredible tragedy and comes together to mourn and celebrate his life.”

Garrison died in March 2024

Garrison died by suicide on March 5 at age 25. He was one of six children Janelle shared with Kody, who has 18 children in total with four women.

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” his parents shared in a statement posted to both their Instagram accounts. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

The tragedy united the fractured Brown family as they came together to mourn Garrison’s death. Photos from a celebration of life held by his National Guard unit show Janelle, Kody, Meri, Christine, Robyn, and many of the Brown children honoring his memory at an emotional ceremony.

Janelle shared some of the photos on her Instagram, where she thanked people for their support in her time of grief.

“It’s been hard to get my brain to work properly again. I am so grateful for the outpouring of love and support I’ve received these last three weeks,” she wrote. “The support has been overwhelming. I am honored. So many of you shared stories of your loved ones. So many of you wrote of your thoughts and prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Sister Wives star Robyn Brown appears to be working through some deep issues in the show’s Season 19 trailer. She calls herself the “idiot that got left behind” as Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown create new lives outside of their polygamist union with Kody Brown. Robyn’s statement proves she’s still resentful of their family’s breakdown, but is she revealing more than she’s letting on?

Robyn Brown may have been the last of Kody Brown’s wives. But she became an integral part of the family’s breakdown after joining their polygamist clan. Kody appeared to find favor with her most and spent most of his time with her and her children, neglecting his longstanding relationships with Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown.

Throughout the series, Robyn has maintained she wanted sister wives. But appeared to do nothing to foster relationships with the other women in Kody’s life. The only woman Robyn stayed close to was Meri, eventually pushing her out as Kody’s legal wife in 2014.

During Season 19, it appears Robyn is peripheral to the drama surrounding the Brown family. However, she does make statements that try to integrate herself front and center as the “family scapegoat,” a term she used to describe herself in 2022.

In the official TLC trailer for Season 19, she confesses, “This is not the way it was supposed to go. I feel like the idiot who got left behind.”

Is Kody and Robyn’s Season 19 relationship drama real or fake?

Kody and Robyn Brown are living in monogamy. Outwardly, they appear to be happy.

However, no one knows what happens behind closed doors. Robyn and Kody added some drama to their relationship and how it has reportedly changed in the new Season 19 trailer.

The couple are filmed outside their home, wearing winter clothing and discussing their relationship. It’s difficult to tell if this conversation contains the truth or is manufactured to create a storyline.

“I’m having a hard time. I’m losing respect for you,” Robyn tells Kody as they stand in the snow. He responds, “Robyn, I can’t even get it straight with you now.”

However, in early 2023, he said during an installment of the Sister Wives: One-on-One episodes that if Robyn wanted him to take another wife, he likely wouldn’t. “No, I wouldn’t be interested. Because I would have to tell that woman, ‘I will never love you as much as I love her.’ Now I know better,” Kody explained.

Although Robyn Brown maintained she wanted herself and her children to remain part of a big, plural family, she never achieved that goal. She was an outsider, she claims, as were her children and became the most hated woman in their clan.

During Season 18, Robyn claimed, “From my perspective, Kody did not choose us. My kids and I wanted to be a part of this family. And wanted to be accepted and loved by everyone.”

She continued, “When we were blending families years ago, there was a lot of trouble. I didn’t feel like I had a lot of support from the other parents to do this blending.”

However, many Brown family members contradicted Robyn’s statements. Gwendlyn Brown, Christine, and Kody Brown’s daughter, shared her thoughts in a YouTube video. Gwendlyn said, “She states that she wants us to be this big happy family, but in my experience, that’s not true.”

Janelle’s son, Garrison Brown, also said in a Season 18 clip that Robyn used “COVID-19 to make Dad exclusive and then turned herself into the victim, saying it’s our fault. Robyn’s mad that she can’t have this effect on our lives anymore because we just don’t care anymore.”

In turn, Kody defended Robyn in the Sister Wives One-on-One episodes. He said, “There is a shift of blame toward Robyn that got to the point where it makes me so angry. That I was getting to the point that if you had a complaint about her, I’d be like, ‘shut up, I will punch you in the mouth.'”

Season 19 of Sister Wives debuts on TLC on September 15 at 10 p.m. EST.

One year after Kody Brown and Meri Brown ended their marriage in front of TLC’s cameras, she’s calling “bull****” on his “decency” in an explosive new trailer for Sister Wives, Season 19. The reality star confronted her ex-husband for his actions throughout their marriage, and is seen taking steps to break away from her family for good.

On August 13, TLC released the latest season trailer for Season 19 of Sister Wives. Viewers will see Meri Brown verbally dress down Kody Brown in a sit-down showdown.

For 18 seasons, viewers watched as Kody neglected Meri and their marriage. Although he appeared loving toward her in the series’ first seasons, that affection deteriorated.

Meri was a peripheral character on the show. She was devoted to Kody and their polygamist clan but never received anything in return for her loyalty. Now, she faces off with Kody, each sharing their truth before formally dissolving their union.

In a new clip, Meri confesses, “Kody and I are done. Our marriage is over.”

Her statement follows a clip of the two former spouses facing off. Meri states, “I’m not your wife anymore.” He responds with, “It’s not divorce that sucks, it’s marrying the wrong person.”

Meri tells TLC’s cameras, “What sucks is marrying the wrong person and then not having the decency to tell her until 32 years later.” The clip then cut back to the couple’s altercation, with Meri saying, “I didn’t know we were having a fight here.”

Kody responds, “It’s confusing from day one,” to which Meri responds, “Bull ****. That is so not fair to me. I would have rather you had told me, Kody, years ago.” He, in turn, blames Meri for his inability to love her.

Meri and Kody Brown’s altercation comes after Season 18 marriage bombshell

At the close of Season 18, fans saw a sit down between Meri, Robyn, and Kody Brown. Meri was the last sister wife in the clan after Christine and Janelle Brown’s exits.

In Part 2 of the season’s one-on-one episodes, Christine revealed Kody melted his original wedding ring from Meri and saved the gold and diamonds after his relationship with Robyn began. Christine spilled, “Well, Meri found out. She’s like, ‘Well, where’s my ring? You don’t wear it anymore.’”

She continued, “He’s like, ‘I melted it down.’ Just like that. He’s like, ‘I don’t want Meri to have control over me and power over me anymore.’”

Meri was furious that Christine shared that intimate detail of her and Kody’s relationship. “That was a symbol! That was a sign of our marriage and commitment, and he melted it down!” Meri furiously said of the event occurred years before her 2015 catfishing incident.

“Who’s to say that he didn’t just melt down our entire relationship in that moment? Symbolically, that’s what he did to me. It was a very, very painful situation.”

Season 19 begins in early 2023, placing the timeline when Meri and Kody announce on Instagram their marriage was over. Although the season’s trailer touched on Kody’s insistence on remaining married to Janelle, Christine’s relationship with David Wooley, and Robyn’s continued confusion about her marital situation, Meri appears to finally be getting her moment in the spotlight.

As Kody’s first legal wife, Meri stayed in the shadows for years. This season, she gets her say about living as part of Kody’s polygamist family.

Meri is seen sharing details of her move to Utah with Robyn’s youngest children, Solomon and Ariella, hugging Christine and interacting with Janelle. Meri’s full-circle moment has been far too long in the making. Let’s hope TLC finally gives her the justice she deserves.

‘Welcome to Plathville’: TLC’s Shattered Show Could be Revived By 1 Unlikely Villain

TLC‘s Welcome to Plathville entered the network’s lineup in 2019. It was a show about a supersized family who believed in a fundamentalist way of life and didn’t allow their children to partake in commonplace activities such as watching television, drinking soda, and having friends outside of their religious sect. Today, the family has been irrevocably broken, their core beliefs shattered, and trust issues threaten each of their relationships. However, TLC shattered show could be revived by one unlikely villain.

‘Welcome to Plathville’ once had exciting storylines; now it’s just boring

The Plath family was headed by Kim and Barry Plath. Their children are Ethan, Hosanna, Micah, Moriah, Lydia, Isaac, Amber, Cassia and Mercy.

The family’s belief system dominated every aspect of their lives. Therefore, when Ethan and his girlfriend Olivia married, it was their chance to break away from their respective clans and live the life they chose.

Following this, Moriah and Micah also realized that there was a great, big world outside of their small Georgia town. They followed Ethan and Olivia’s lead, leaving home at a young age to experience the ups and downs of life.

However, the family’s pull on its children emotionally affected their lives. Although this parenting method caused deep family drama and division, it remained the only interesting aspect of the series.

Within six seasons, the Plath family continues to implode. Kim and Barry, the parents, are divorcing, and Ethan and Olivia are also divorced.

Thus far this season, Ethan won’t let Olivia go while she lives her best life outside of their marriage. Kim resides on a houseboat, Barry is into health and fitness, and Micah moved across the country from California to Florida to live with a woman who refuses to be identified.

So what is Welcome to Plathville about today? Nothing but a bunch of peripheral characters who, together, make for something other than an exciting story. But that could change this season as one unlikely villain could revitalize the series.

Ethan Plath could become the villain ‘Welcome to Plathville’ needs to keep it interesting

As Welcome to Plathville progresses, Ethan Plath’s behavior continues to take a dark turn. Although he projected an air of progressive behavior in his marriage to Olivia Plath, he has since returned to his traditional beliefs.

However, it took him a long time to truly unite with Olivia, so their breakup appeared to come out of left field. But did it?

Ethan has a history of pointing fingers at others rather than taking ownership of his personal problems. Throughout Welcome to Plathville, he blames his parents for the problems in his marriage to Olivia.

Then, as the couple continued to move around to escape their issues, Ethan began to blame Olivia for their marriage breakdown. He demonized her for wanting to change and grow rather than fall into the comfortable pattern of his youth.

“Between me or your family, you were going to pick your family,” Olivia claimed. Ethan shot back, “That’s because you made me choose.”

Ethan reuniting with his mother after years of not communicating due to her dislike of Olivia also lends an air of suspicious behavior. His emerging dark side could be just the adrenaline the series needs to keep it interesting for fans instead of just watching the usual family dynamics.

Even though Olivia Plath divorced Ethan, she remains a Welcome to Plathville cast member. In response to an Instagram post, she said, “Doing my own thing in my own way with my own people. Hoping to provide a counter perspective to all of the fundie crazy.”

All the family members continue to be involved in the series except the Plath’s eldest daughter, Hosanna. She is married to Timothy Noble, and their family website shares information about their professional work as musicians.

Us Weekly quoted Moriah, who spoke of Hosanna’s absence: “She married at a young age and moved off with her husband and started her life somewhere else. And she didn’t want to be on the show, and we were kind of all just, like, yeah, I mean, it’s her life.”
