‘And Just Like That…’ Season 3 Set Photos Suggest Carrie Bradshaw Has a New Love Interest, Despite Aidan Shaw’s Return
It looks like Aidan Shaw might have some competition for Carrie Bradshaw’s affection when And Just Like That… Season 3 returns. While season 2 left Carrie waiting for Aidan’s youngest son to age out of his troubled teen years so they could resume their romance, it doesn’t look like she’ll be waiting alone.
Last week, it was revealed that three new guest stars would be joining the cast. While the team behind the Sex and the City reboot didn’t share how they will factor into the ladies’ lives, two of the three new stars have been spotted on set. At least one of those new characters appears to be portraying a love interest for Carrie. We have yet to determine what that means for Carrie and Aidan.
Carrie Bradshaw spotted having an intimate meal with a new man for ‘And Just Like That…’ season 3
Filming for season 3 of And Just Like That… started in May. Still, we are just now beginning to see some interesting moments on the streets of New York City. Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted filming scenes for the reboot’s third season with a new mystery character.
Jonathan Cake, whose involvement in the show was announced last week, appeared on set and filmed several scenes with both Parker and Cynthia Nixon. Cake’s character enjoys an intimate meal with Carrie Bradshaw in one scene. In a different scene, Cake is seen in close proximity to Nixon. They appeared to be discussing a book.
There is no word on exactly who Cake is playing. Still, the snapshots suggest his character will be a love interest for Carrie despite her almost nonsensical interest in keeping a candle burning for Aidan Shaw.
‘AJLT’ set photos reveal a potential ‘meet-cute’ as well
While Parker was spotted enjoying an intimate meal with Cake during filming, his character might not be Carrie’s only new love interest. Logan Marshall-Green was also spotted on the set recently. Based on the one scene he was spotted filming with Parker, a meet-cute might be part of the storyline.
In the scene, Marshall-Green’s so-far unnamed character was seen holding Carrie’s new four-legged companion. He appears to have happened upon Shoe, the cat Carrie adopted at the tail end of season 2, and returned her to her rightful owner. While we have not seen additional scenes from Marshall-Green, it is the perfect meet-cute scenario. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Marshall-Green and the other new stars are expected to appear in multiple episodes. Clearly, Marshall-Green and Parker’s scene isn’t a one-off.
How Marshall-Green, Cake, and Mehcad Brooks will factor into the overall season 3 storyline remains unknown. Brooks’ involvement was announced last week, but he has yet to appear on set. We likely won’t know the full extent of their participation in the series until season 3 premieres in 2025. Max has yet to announce an official release date.
