Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck appear to be on the fast track to divorce. The stars first fell in love in the early 2000s. While they were initially engaged in 2002, they broke off their engagement in 2004. Nearly 20 years later, they fell in love again and tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, the couple reportedly has issues. Lopez has allegedly already met with lawyers to discuss her next steps.

Jennifer Lopez is seemingly ready to start the divorce process with Ben Affleck. The couple seemed happy and in love until mid-2024. By May 2024, rumors swirled that Affleck and Lopez could no longer communicate effectively, as they had disagreements in parenting, finance, and their careers. Lopez and Affleck reportedly no longer live together as of May 2024. Lopez lives in their $60 million mansion. Affleck lives in a $100,000 monthly rental nearby.

Neither Lopez nor Affleck has officially filed paperwork for a divorce. However, a source told Closer Online that Lopez has met with lawyers.

“J.Lo knows how to handle a divorce, and she’s already been meeting with lawyers,” the insider claimed. “Even though they’ve been married such a short time, there’s still a ton of assets to divvy up. She’s also hired a special crisis PR team, and they’re brainstorming how she and Ben can cut the cord with as little collateral damage as possible.”

The insider added that Lopez asked Affleck to create a “united front” for the world. “He made sure to flash his phone screen with J.Lo’s photo and married name on it for photographers to catch, and he agreed to put his wedding ring back on,” the source said of Affleck. “The hope is that these photo ops will calm the frenzy down.”

The insider told Closer Online that Jennifer Lopez is preparing for the worst and ready to “cover her butt” if necessary. PR expert Lauren Beeching spoke to The Sun about the possible fallout for Lopez if she and Ben Affleck divorce. Beeching noted that Lopez will be under “harsher scrutiny” than Affleck for the end of her marriage.

“If there is a divorce, her image and brand might suffer negative publicity, impacting sales and partnerships,” Beeching explained. “Jennifer should focus on maintaining her image throughout this process. Jennifer could shift the narrative from her relationship status to reminding the public that she is J.Lo.”

Ben Affleck is allegedly giving up on fixing their marriage

Ben Affleck is starting to lose steam when it comes to saving his marriage to Jennifer Lopez. A source told Fox News Digital the actor isn’t nearly as “invested” as he once was.

“Ben doesn’t seem as invested in trying to repair the relationship as he was before,” the source said. “He seems to have pulled back and is trying less and less. He’s really thrown himself into work and is focused on that right now more than his marriage.” 

The source added that Lopez and Affleck participated in marriage counseling. However, Affleck has missed a few sessions. “As of recent, Ben hasn’t been as committed to it as he was before and has even skipped some sessions,” they claimed.
