Ben Affleck’s $20 Million Home Puts Him Close to Jennifer Garner Despite Her Desire for Space From His Marital Issues
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez continue to fuel divorce rumors in 2024. The couple tied the knot in 2022 after first falling in love 20 years prior. While fans thought they would stay together forever, evidence points to a permanent separation. Lopez and Affleck publicly listed their Beverly Hills home for sale in July 2024, and Affleck already bought a new home in LA. Here’s what to know about Affleck’s new place and its proximity to his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Ben Affleck bought a $20 million home near his $100,000 monthly rental in Brentwood, LA
Several sources say Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are on the path to divorce. In July 2024, they publicly listed their $60 million Beverly Hills home for sale after it garnered little interest privately. While the couple reportedly never loved the vast home, they’ve also spent a lot of time apart in 2024. Affleck and Lopez seemed to spend the entire month of July on separate coasts.
Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, has reportedly helped Affleck with his marital woes. Affleck hasn’t been living in his Beverly Hills home. Instead, he rents a $100,000 monthly apartment in the Brentwood neighborhood of LA. Garner also lives in Brentwood, and the exes are often seen together.
As for Affleck’s new place, he bought a $20 million mansion in Brentwood close to his apartment. If the five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence is in the same neighborhood as his rental, then he also stayed close to Garner and their three kids.
Lopez and Affleck haven’t sold their $60 million Beverly Hills mansion since July 2024. Reports suggest Lopez is also looking for a new home.
Jennifer Garner allegedly wants space from Ben Affleck’s problems with Jennifer Lopez
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner sustained a close friendship after their divorce. The couple was married for a decade before calling it quits in 2015, and they prioritized co-parenting for the good of their three kids. Garner reportedly helped Affleck with his marital issues with Jennifer Lopez. However, a source told DailyMail.com that helping Affleck became “painful” for Garner, as it reminded her of her own divorce.
“Jen eventually got to a place where she was like, ‘Sorry, figure this out yourself,'” an insider explained. “It was beginning to become too painful for her because it was bringing back so many memories of their divorce.”
The insider added that Garner cares about Lopez but occasionally felt “second” to Lopez during her marriage with Affleck. Now that Lopez and Affleck have issues, Garner wanted to help by opening her home to the couple. However, she might be ready to close those doors.
“Jen opened up her home and her life to J.Lo because she had moved on from the past,” the insider alleged. “She cares about J.Lo and cares about their kids and how it will affect all of them. But in the end, it is not Jen’s circus, not Jen’s monkeys, and she is done playing marriage counselor to her ex-husband and his wife.”
Jennifer Lopez might not stay on the West Coast
Jennifer Lopez is allegedly looking for a new home but hasn’t said where. While she might buy a house on the West Coast to remain close to her stepkids, an insider told In Touch Weekly that Lopez wants to move to New York full-time.
“Even before things went totally south with Ben, she was pushing for a full-time move to New York, and now she’s decided to go ahead with that after the split,” the insider told In Touch Weekly.
Lopez spent all of July 2024 in the Hamptons and New York City. She celebrated her 55th birthday in her New York mansion, though Ben Affleck did not attend.
